Project History The Heritage Mural Gallery was started with the idea of a Centennial Year Mural to be displayed on the Richmond Arena/Recreation Centre. The idea evolved from there to its present form of a gallery of murals to depict the history of Richmond. In the first year, 2000, “The Centennial Logo”, on the front of the arena, and the 1st mural were the result of a competition won by Becky Marr-Johnson of North Gower. Each year since then one new mural has been added, the last being in Jul 2003 called the “Fair and depicting local events circa 1910. The Richmond Heritage Mural Gallery currently features four murals located on the east side of the Recreation Centre with the two newest murals on the west side.
