submitted the necessary documents to include the RVA under the
City of Ottawa insurance plan.
- Transit: Doug Longmire presented an in-depth report on the Transit
situation. Discussions are still ongoing on the OCTranspo proposal
which gives Richmond nothing except full Para Transpo services at a
very steep price. Submissions are to be presented in April and decisions
made in Oct. 2002.
Presentation:
- High Speed internet Access: Tom Shmara and assistant made a
Presentation. This service is a must if Richmond is to attract new
businesses and population. Services by Storm Wireless Internet were
recommended, however, lack of a tower of sufficient height will hinder
availability of this service. The Fire Hall tower is not high enough.
Councilor Stavinga:
- Presented an overview of the discussion on ward boundaries. Public
meetings are planned and public input is solicited. Pres Ted will
speak to this subject at the Corel Centre public meeting on Feb 11.
- Provided an update on plans for Perth St. and Fortune St.
